Where It All Began

Carved from a mature tree nursery that was planted in the late 1940’s, the championship layout of Timber Ridge Golf Club boasts spectacular views and an inspiring design. 

Course Architect Jerry Matthews of Matthews Natural Course Design worked with an abundant variety of trees, hilly terrain, and the existing marshland.  Matthews’ philosophy of design allows nature and the contour of the land to suggest the placement of holes and flow of the course. 

He and his father, Michigan Golf Hall of Fame recipient W. Bruce Matthews, have won acclaim for advancing the art of environmentally sound golf course design in Michigan.  Timber Ridge is the end result of their years of experience and combined expertise.

A day of golf at Timber Ridge is more than just a challenging course amidst spectacular natural beauty.  Our staff is dedicated to insuring helpful and friendly customer service at every level.

Towering majestic pines and a plethora of hardwoods along with the highest elevation in Clinton county help ensure Timber Ridge is a very unique golf experience for mid-Michigan.  The new GPS system on every cart will make certain yardages and hole features are right at your fingertips.

Gone are the days of tight tree lined holes, blocked off from the natural beauty of the rolling terrain.  Pine needles and natural grasses now replace the underbrush in many of the wooded areas adjoining the fairways to help make the course more playable and dramatic.  The pristine natural setting, surrounded by woodlands and marshes, continues to inspire golfers of every skill level.
